I would like to take this opportunity to tell each of you how I feel about San Luis Obispo.  Having lived in and worked for our city since 1956, I have seen it change from being “Anytown, USA” to becoming one of the most desirable places to live.  Just as I have loved and nurtured my own children as they grew and matured into adulthood, I take pride in having played a part in the nurturing and maturing of San Luis Obispo.  The amount of joy and pride I feel for our city is very close to the joy and pride I feel for my own children and grandchildren!

 For me, “Paradise” is a well-deserved nickname for San Luis Obispo.  Thank you for allowing me to work among you and serve you for the past 50 years…I have enjoyed every minute of it.  And thank you for playing your part in making our community the beautiful place that it is!
